"As soon as we were engaged we knew that we wanted Chris to provide our catering for our wedding, we had eaten at his restaurants in Aberdeen and loved his style of food. We met with him 18 months prior to the big day to discuss our ideas and he totally understood that we didn’t want a boring soup, chicken and pudding style meal that you usually get at a traditional Scottish wedding. We wanted fresh, tasty food that our guests would talk about and enjoy. We decided to serve various canapes during our drinks reception, antipasto sharing boards for starter, a barbeque of various delicious meats and a selection of salads for the main course and the famous Bumblebee Cheesecake for dessert – yummy! Our evening meal was macaroni cheese with various toppings, an absolute winner!

Before the wedding, Chris arranged a barbeque so we could taste all the food that we had chosen to allow us to make any last minute changes to our menu. It was a really enjoyable evening and it was good to meet some of his team that would be managing the catering on the day. We also had a number of vegetarian and vegan guests attending our wedding, Chris designed a separate menu for them, which was no problem at all.

A huge thank you to Chris and his team for providing amazing food and service that really contributed to the party atmosphere and enjoyment of our day. All of our guests loved the food, and many said, “BEST WEDDING FOOD EVER!!” We would like to add that our vegetarian and vegan guests commented on how they felt properly catered for and not an afterthought like at other events.

"What a feast!! We absolutely loved having Salt & Sauce cook up a storm for our wedding at Guardswell Farm. Chris is super creative and helps you to make the best menu possible for your day. We chose to have an antipasti sharing board to start followed by pork carved in front of the guests with sharing bowls of sides on the tables and a lemon posset with Baileys white chocolate for dessert. All the guests absolutely loved the meal and there was plenty food to go round!! Plus those canapes were absolutely delicious!

Chris also made sure that the vegan and vegetarian guests were well catered for. Salt & Sauce totally understood the style of wedding we were going for, used all local produce, they were super chilled and happy for us to change anything up, plus Chris took the time to travel to the venue to check it out before the wedding so he knew exactly what was happening on the day. We didn’t need to worry about a thing - the team were super-efficient and made sure everything ran smoothly.

Huge thanks to Chris & the team for pulling out all the stops and creating the best feast we’ve ever had!"

"As the parents of Kirsty Macdonald - Ross we are just writing to say how delighted we were with every aspect of the wedding on Saturday. We would like you to convey our sincere thanks to all the members of your staff who contributed to making Kirsty and Stewart's big day the truly memorable special event they deserved.

The wedding meal was absolutely perfect, so many of the guests were delighted with it and such a nice idea to have the sharing platters to break the ice and get everyone chatting. First class service and every plate hot and professionally turned out as in a five star restaurant. Many thanks to Chris for his every attention to detail.

Can you please also let ten dollar shake staff know what a great job they did mixing drinks and serving cocktails and wine for the meal. Thank you Gomes for your help in the organisation of this.

Michelle was instrumental in running a tight ship, overseeing the whole event, to ensure everything ran like clockwork on the day. She was a delight to work with, attentive to every detail yet unobtrusive, an absolute star!

"I booked Salt and Sauce for my husbands 60th birthday. We wanted to have a house party and enjoy family and friends coming round without having to spend the whole day and night in the kitchen preparing and serving food.

Chris and Amber came round early to prep, they provided everything so I didn’t have to worry about having enough cutlery or miss matched plates. The food was absolutely fantastic, from the gorgeous canapés that not only looked brilliant but tasted delicious to the tasty main courses and desserts!! Not having to worry about food and timings was a joy and I was able to enjoy the celebrations too! Amber was such a lovely, bubbly young lady and was fantastic at making sure no ones glass was empty and great at working her way round the room handing out the canapés! All the guests loved the food and couldn’t compliment the quality and presentation enough! Chris is an amazing chef running a very professional business and I would recommend him and his team over and over again!"

"Wow! Wow, wow, wow, wow. We were blown away by the quality and quantity of food that Chris and his team provided for our festival-style wedding. Everyone went on and on about the lamb. So delicious! The BBQ street food stall really added to the look and feel of our laid back day and for the cost, there was loads of choice, even for the vegans. Chris was also really helpful; he was responsive to emails and calls, listened to what we wanted and developed a bespoke menu for us in our budget (we want an Arabic-y vibe). "We had the most amazing wedding day and Salt & Sauce played a huge part in making the day so perfect! We wanted a unique and personal wedding so decided to have a marquee on the grounds of my parents’ home in Deeside and after looking at various options for catering, agreed on Salt & Sauce and they didn’t disappoint! Chris and his team set up their BBQ hut in our garden which fitted in perfectly with our informal, rustic style wedding. Everyone complimented us throughout the day on the food….my mouth still waters thinking about it (mac and cheese bites, grilled halloumi, pulled pork, amazing sausages, fried onions, BBQ beans, banoffee pie to name a few of my favourites!). The staff were 5* too, they made sure everything ran smoothly, cleared up without us even noticing and even little touches like keeping a plate of canapes aside for me as they knew I was rushing around getting photos. They got on so well with all of our guests too, particularly my mum! Even now guests are still commenting on how great the food and service was! The day was absolutely flawless, without any hitches at all and that’s down to the amazing suppliers we had!'

The service provided was fantastic, right from when we first discussed the event to the moment everything was packed up at the end of the night. Not only were the guys efficient and capable, but they were also incredibly friendly and helpful.

More importantly, perhaps, the food was absolutely delicious and it was so apparent that nothing but the highest quality of produce was being served. Everyone who came said how brilliant everything was.

“When planning our wedding we wanted to make sure that the food was something people would talk about for a long time. After meeting with Chris last year we decided right away that Salt & Sauce would give us everything we wanted. Chris came up with an amazing menu for us that we knew everyone would love. Chris and his team poured drinks whilst being very welcoming to all our guests and the team would often make sure Kirsty and I had drinks and canapes. As for the main meal, it was even better than we could have imagined. After the main course Kirsty and I went to chat with our guests and received nothing but amazing feedback about the meal. “We set out to host a unique gala dinner to launch Greyhope Bay and our plans to establish a world class visitor/dolphin watching centre for Aberdeen and chose a glass fronted marquee by the sea as our venue. The setting was superb and yet the food added another level to the guest experience.

Guests were treated to an incredible 5 course meal, full of creative flair which included a Cullen skink cappuccino and leak scone, gin and tonic sorbet and delicious loin venison and pie. Salt & Sauce took the time to understand the value of what we were trying to achieve with the event, tailored their support and created a unique menu that reflected our aspirations.

The team undertook the challenge of catering for over 200 guests from the back of a marquee and using the regions finest local produce they couldn’t have created better - the food was outstanding!

The quality of the food and high standard of service made for very happy guests who were able to relax and fully enjoy the night.

Food makes all the difference in an event and we are so pleased to have worked with Salt & Sauce who made a huge contribution to the success of the night."

“Elevator selected Salt & Sauce to cater for our annual Elevator Awards Finalist Celebration Event – a party in aid of business success in the region at our Centre for Entrepreneurship at Bridge of Don. We were really impressed with the pricing, quality of food and generous portion sizes for the 3 canapes we selected for our guests: Scampi, Beef and potato, and Macaroni Cheese Balls – yes! They were as amazing as they sound. Our guests and Team were really impressed with the food and the accompanying homemade quality dips – and we would recommend for anyone else hosting a similar event. The set up was done by Chris Tonner himself and the food was all laid out and hot for our guests – the equipment and dishes were just picked up the next day so there was no fuss. A great service and good quality food!
